EXPLORE THE WORKSHOPS

Four strands, one intention

Each strand is a doorway into a different dimension of intentional practice. You might begin with one and find yourself drawn to them all.

Strand 1 — Foundations of Intentional Practice

A grounding place to begin - or return to. Explore the beliefs, values, and daily choices that shape how you show up for children.

  • Explore how your beliefs and values shape everyday teaching practice. Through reflection and dialogue, participants gain clarity, renewed purpose, and practical next steps to create more authentic, consistent, and sustainable practice

  • Examine how your image of the child influences decisions, environments, and relationships. This workshop explores curiosity, competence, participation, and practical ways to honour children as capable, whole citizens of the present.

  • Reframe play as inquiry, relationship, identity-building, and meaning-making. Participants learn to recognize the cycle of play, interpret children’s ideas through play, and respond in ways that protect agency and deepen learning.

  • Explore the dispositions and decision-making that support responsive practice. Through examples and reflection, participants deepen their ability to observe, interpret, and thoughtfully respond to children’s play, inquiry, and emerging competence.

Strand 2 — Play, Agency & Embodied Learning

Dive deep into play, creativity, and children's ways of making meaning. For educators ready to follow children's lead.

  • Reimagine art as a relational, sensory, and inquiry-based process rather than a product. Participants explore materials as active partners in learning and design responsive art environments that support curiosity, autonomy, and meaning-making.

  • Discover how children use story, dialogue, play, and art to make sense of their world. This workshop strengthens listening, observation, and strategies for supporting collaborative thinking and confident communication.

Strand 3 — Professional Relationships & Living Well Together

Strong teams don't happen by accident. Build the trust, reflection, and relational culture that makes collaboration feel possible.

  • Build stronger workplace relationships rooted in trust, empathy, and meaningful dialogue. Participants explore practical ways to navigate conflict, strengthen collaboration, and foster a healthy culture of shared growth and connection.

  • Reframe documentation as a practice of listening, relationship, and meaning-making. Participants strengthen their ability to notice, interpret, and represent children’s learning in ways that support reflection, belonging, inquiry, and professional dialogue.

Strand 4 — Pedagogy, Reflection & Growing Practice

For the curious, reflective educator who loves thinking deeply about teaching and learning — and wants to keep growing.

Carla Ward, Founder of Early Learning Foundations

“Cathy’s workshop on the Power of Art at The Everything ECE Summit was absolutely fantastic! Her passion for fostering authentic creative expression in young children really came through. The live video examples she shared made the concepts so clear and practical — I walked away with ideas I could implement immediately. On top of that, Cathy is such a pleasure to listen to — warm, engaging, and inspiring. I’m so glad I attended her session! ”

Sunny, Audrey and Nayomi, Trout Lake Preschool

“We had Cathy come to our centre and do a series of workshops and we really enjoyed it. She is very knowledgeable and creative - guiding us on how to build connections with children and their families. We have been applying what we learned from her and we have found it very helpful in our curriculum. We highly recommend you attend Cathy's workshops.”

Children’s Programs

Stories in the Studio ~ 6 to 8 years

Stories in the Studio invites children to explore storytelling through art and imagination. In this small, supportive group, children share oral stories, write simple narratives, and create artwork inspired by the stories they tell and hear.

Creative Play ~ 3.5-5 years

Imaginative, hands-on experiences that blend storytelling, building, movement, and sensory exploration. Through rich play experiences, children develop foundational academic skills—like language, problem-solving, and early literacy—while building confidence, creativity, and social connection.

Junior Author & Artist Studio ~ 8-12 years

A creative space for young storytellers and illustrators to develop their voices. Through writing, art, and oral storytelling, children explore characters, ideas, and the power of self-expression.
