THE SHARED CANVAS
A Collaborative Art Experience
To replenish. To thrive — together.
What if the most powerful thing you could do for the children, families, and communities you serve - was to create something alongside others, just for the joy of it?
The Shared Canvas is an intimate, in-person two-hour collaborative art experience for a small group of ten. A space to slow down, explore materials firsthand, and discover what it feels like to be truly present - with the materials, with each other, and with yourself.
No art experience needed. No pressure to perform. Just you, a shared canvas, and a room full of people stepping into creativity as an act of nourishment - for themselves, and for each other.
Like a forest ecosystem, where every root system, every unique perspective, quietly strengthens the whole - what you create together couldn't exist without every person in the room.
At the end, the group decides together what becomes of the piece. Because that's what this is - yours, together.
FOR EDUCATORS
A professional learning experience rooted in replenishment and intentional practice
We talk about offering children the right materials to support their play, exploration and growth, but how well do we truly know those materials ourselves?
Through simple drawing activities, open conversation, and the unhurried joy of adding colour alongside others, you'll experience materials the way children do - with fresh eyes, open hands, and genuine discovery. Because when we truly understand a material through our own experience, we become more intentional and more responsive in what we offer children.
And woven through it all — a felt sense of what it means to truly collaborate. You'll leave with a deeper understanding of art materials and a felt sense of what intentional collaboration truly looks like — for yourself and for the children you serve.

YOUR FACILITATOR
Cathy Belgrave is an Early Childhood and Elementary Educator with over 25 years of experience supporting educators to connect deeply with their practice - and with each other.
As the founder of The Intentional Educator and host of The Intentional ECE podcast, Cathy brings a background in developmental psychology, a B.Ed., and Wunderled ECE certification to everything she creates. She believes that the best teaching comes from a place of abundance - when educators feel nourished, connected, and genuinely seen.
The Shared Canvas grew from that belief. It's an experience designed to help educators slow down, reconnect with their own creativity, and feel what connection with others and collaboration is like. Because when we replenish ourselves, feel connected to others and the environment, we show up differently for the children, families, and communities we serve.
